Dr John Sudijono is a Director of Engineering at Applied Materials and acts as Co-Director of the Applied Materials-NUS Advanced Materials Corporate Lab, to accelerate the discovery and commercialization of new materials for manufacturing next-generation semiconductors.
Prior to joining Applied Materials, Dr Sudijono was a Director of Central Engineering at Globalfoundries where he led a cross-functional team to drive the efficiency of capital deployment for 20 and 14nm CMOS Logic, achieving significant annual cost savings with asset reuse and process convergence. He previously also spent 15 years in Technology Development at both Chartered Semiconductor and Globalfoundries both in Singapore and USA. He served as the Project Leader for Chartered at the onset of the collaboration with IBM Microelectronics in East Fishkill, USA and continued on after the merger with Globalfoundries. He holds a PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and was a Research Fellow at Imperial College, London, prior to joining the semiconductor industry.
