Launch of Applied Materials-NUS Advanced Materials Corporate Laboratory 2.0

Applied Materials – National University of Singapore (NUS) Advanced Materials Corporate Laboratory is expanding its collaboration, building on the success of its first phase. The partnership has led to significant achievements in modeling novel materials and processes, contributing to the local semiconductor ecosystem and training over 70 researchers, PhD students, and trainees.

On 24 October 2024, Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Research Foundation was the Guest-of-Honour alongside industry leaders, government officials and senior members of the university at the launch ceremony.

In Phase 2, we will include a larger, more advanced cleanroom, new programmes for talent development, as well as the establishment of a Professorship at NUS. The aim is to attract experts in semiconductors, materials science and other technology fields.

Applied Materials and NUS Expand Semiconductor Research Lab to Drive Innovation and Talent Development in Singapore

To further advance semiconductor research and talent development in Singapore, we are expanding our collaboration to further advance semiconductor research and talent development in Singapore. NUS and Applied Materials announced a major expansion of their joint semiconductor research lab, co-hosted by CDE and the Faculty of Science, aimed at enhancing Singapore’s position as a hub for advanced semiconductor technology.

Phase 2 of the Applied Materials ─ NUS Advanced Materials Corporate Laboratory was launched on 24 October 2024 by Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat as the Guest-of-Honour.
